5 DIY natural face mask for glowing skin

Store-bought face masks are not just expensive but are also loaded with harsh chemicals like parabens, SLS, fragrance & phthalates to name a few, these ingredients are very common in skincare products, even the so-called natural brands' face masks have questionable ingredients in them, which may make your skin look healthy and glowing for a while but they are extremely dangerous and can even cause pre-mature ageing in the long run. Thankfully you can always look up to natural ingredients to take care of your skin with a little DIY which are not only good for your skin but is also good for your pocket, so here are some of my favorite DIY face masks that I love.

The Banana face mask: Bananas are loaded with antioxidants, potassium, fiber, silica vitamin B6 and C and they are great for your skin. It promotes collagen production, helps fight sun damage, reduces inflammation and hydrates the skin. For this face mask all you need is a banana, simply mash a banana into a smooth paste and apply an even layer of it on a clean face, leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off with plain water, that's it, this face mask will leave you with glowing & healthier looking skin, Do try this face mask and enjoy the glow.

Honey for glowing skin: Honey is a boon for people with dry skin, honey is extremely moisturizing for the skin and gives a nourished glow, it also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps treat acne, to prepare this nourishing face mask all you need is honey, preferably raw, all you need to do is apply a thin layer of the honey on your clean face, leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with luke warm water and that's it, say hello to healthy and hydrated skin.

Tomatoes for brighter skin: Tomatoes are rich in lycopene which is an antioxidant known to prevent skin photodamage and it also boosts level of procollagen in the skin which makes this fruit great for de-tanning, to prepare this mask all you need is a fresh tomato, extract it's pulp and apply it on your clean face, let it sit for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with water, and say bye to the dull skin. hello brightness!

Papaya and turmeric: Papaya contains an enzyme called papain which promotes collagen and heals the skin and is also rich in antioxidants, turmeric also contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties which provides glow and luster to the skin, papaya and turmeric when combined together can make your skin visibly brighter and reduce signs of aging, to prepare this mask all you need to do is mash half cup of papaya and add in half a teaspoon of wild turmeric, apply a thick layer of this mask on your clean face, leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with plain water and that's it, trust me your skin will thank you for this, this recipe is my personal favorite.

Gram flour and potato: If you have oily skin, gram flour is a boon for you because it helps controlling oil and sebum production and deeply cleanses your skin, potatoes on the other hand are a rich source of iron and vitamin C which helps tighten the pores it also has natural bleaching agents which can make your skin appear lighter, to prepare this face mask all you'll need is besan (gram flour) and freshly extracted potato juice, simply mix both the ingredients into a thick smooth paste and apply it evenly on your clean face, let it sit on your face for 10 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water, that's it, now you can enjoy your oil-free glowing skin.
